#35: Diane Keaton, The Relationship
The relationship was emotionally rich and intellectually charged. Keaton later spoke openly about loving Beatty deeply. They shared humor, work talk, and emotional candor, and their bond carried a seriousness absent from many of his earlier romances.

Yet Beatty’s ambivalence persisted. Keaton wanted clarity and commitment; Beatty remained divided between intimacy and autonomy. The imbalance slowly strained the relationship, as affection continued but emotional certainty remained out of reach.
