#18: The Evolution of Trampoline Safety
Nothing said “cool kid on the block” like owning a trampoline in the Boomer era. It was a launchpad for flips, dares, and hours of airborne fun—but it came with no boundaries, literally. No netting. No padding. Just exposed springs, a metal frame, and a yard full of chaos.

Kids bounced until someone flew off, hit the ground, and cried—or didn’t. Scrapes and sprains were badges of honor. Despite the danger, or maybe because of it, trampolines had magnetic appeal. Eventually, enough ER visits caught the attention of policymakers, and safety nets became a standard feature.
