#18: The movie’s success led to a short-lived television adaptation
Following the film’s popularity, a TV version titled Fast Times went into development, aiming to continue the story with the same roster of characters. Only two cast members returned: Ray Walston reprised his role as Mr. Hand, and Vincent Schiavelli came back as Mr. Vargas, giving the series a small thread of continuity from the movie.

Amy Heckerling remained involved, directing and co-writing three episodes to help maintain the tone she established on the big screen. Unfortunately, the show never found a strong audience. Despite the built-in name recognition, the series struggled in ratings and was canceled after just seven episodes.
