#30: Filming at the real Ridgemont High took place during active school days
The production shot all Ridgemont High scenes over eight days at Van Nuys High School in the San Fernando Valley. Because regular classes were still in session, the crew had to work around the daily school schedule while capturing hallways, classrooms, and exterior shots that felt true to everyday campus life.

The school didn’t just accommodate the filming — it also invited students interested in filmmaking to watch the process firsthand. Those students got a rare look at how a studio movie is made, observing cameras, lighting setups, and performances from just off to the side, turning their campus into a temporary hands-on film school.
