#5: Jodie Foster was once a contender for a key role
Long before Jennifer Jason Leigh stepped into the part of Stacy Hamilton, the filmmakers considered another major talent: Jodie Foster. Unlike some of the other young actors discussed for the film, Foster was already well known thanks to her years as a successful child performer.

Even with her early acclaim, she ultimately didn’t take the role, leaving room for Leigh to make the character her own. It’s one of those intriguing casting possibilities that highlights how many different shapes the film could have taken, especially with so many future stars swirling around its development.
