#5: Barbara Eden Believed Tony Marrying Jeannie Would Ruin the Show
Barbara Eden was never entirely on board with the decision to have Jeannie and Major Nelson marry during the final season of I Dream of Jeannie. She believed the marriage undermined the very dynamic that made the show compelling — the playful tension between a magical, non-human genie and her uptight astronaut master.

That will-they-won’t-they energy gave the series its spark. To Eden, turning their quirky, mysterious bond into a traditional romance stripped the characters of what made them unique. She felt the wedding diluted the show’s original charm and veered too far from the magical mischief fans had loved.
