#4: Aid From The Padre (1963)
Taken by Hector Rondón Lovera during a Venezuelan military uprising, this photograph shows a Catholic priest rushing into gunfire to aid a wounded soldier. Bullets fly as the priest bends down, reaching toward the fallen man. The chaos of the street contrasts sharply with the calm resolve on his face.

Honored with the Pulitzer Prize for Photography, the image captured raw courage in the middle of violence. It stood out not just for danger, but for compassion. The photograph became a powerful symbol of faith, humanity, and selflessness under fire.
