#6: They Must Abide by Local and U.S. Laws
Survivor may strand players on remote beaches, but legality doesn’t vanish with civilization. Contestants are required to obey both local laws and United States law while competing, even when filming takes place on distant islands. The contract spells this out clearly, protecting the production from liability and keeping cast members accountable.

Whether it’s respecting local customs or avoiding any illegal behavior, the rules apply as strictly as they would back home. This layer of oversight reinforces that Survivor is not a lawless wilderness but a structured competition unfolding under the shadow of legal systems that govern real life.
