#8: Contestants Aren’t Allowed to Exit the Camp
Despite the sprawling locations showcased on screen, Survivor players are strictly confined to their designated camp areas. Visiting another tribe’s camp or attempting communication outside official challenges is forbidden and punishable by elimination. This ensures that all interactions happen under controlled circumstances, where the cameras can capture every move.

The restriction intensifies isolation, as tribes feel truly cut off from one another until competitions or swaps occur. It also forces strategy to grow internally within each camp, rather than across tribe lines. The rule keeps storylines clean, interactions authentic, and the suspense of merging tribes all the greater.
