Piers Morgan is a British TV personality known for making controversial statements about young female celebrities he doesn’t know. His recent comments about Meghan Markle sparked a scandal that actually cost him his job on Good Morning Britain. After the Harry and Meghan interview with Oprah, Piers made public comments that implied he didn’t believe Meghan’s claims that she wanted to unalive herself while living as a royal.
There was a huge public backlash to these statements to the point where Piers had to “clarify” what he meant the next day. Co-host Alex Beresford tried to push back and call Piers out for his harmful statements, at which point Piers walked off the set. Beresford described Piers’ behavior at the moment as “diabolical.” Piers later resigned from GMB after the television network received over 40,000 complaints about his comments.
