#6: Barack Obama, First Elected 2008
Barack Obama won the 2008 election on a wave of hope and excitement. As the first African American president, his message of “Yes We Can” inspired millions. After years of war and economic crisis, he promised change, unity, and a new era of American leadership. His victory was historic and emotional.

At the start, Obama’s approval rating was high, around 68%. But as the economy struggled and political divisions deepened, it slowly declined. His healthcare reform sparked fierce debate, and partisan gridlock became constant. By the end of his presidency, his approval averaged about 47.9%, rebounding to 59% as he left office.
